As pioneers of the country’s high-end boutique resort scene since its opening in January 2003, the organic farm – adjacent to the resort – is designed to provide its kitchens with the best of fresh, natural ingredients to be used in its fine dining cuisine.
Aleenta Hua Hin-Pranburi has hired Chef David Heidemann to lead the initiative as well as launch the personal dining programme. Chef David has worked at leading resorts across the world including Bermuda’s Cambridge Beaches Resort and Spa and the prestigious Burg Schwarzenstein Hotel in Germany. The organic farm will grow a full range of produce including herbs, fruits and vegetables that form essential ingredients in Thai, Asian and western dishes, utilising internationally-recognised standards for sustainable soil cultivation, growth management and pesticide-free production. All of these elements are in line with the SLOW Food concept which promotes gastronomy while recognising the connections between plate, planet, people and culture. Moreover, the progressive menu programme involves guests consulting Chef David and personally choosing what they would like to eat before having it prepared. |
“We have always sought to do something different from the very moment we started developing the property, whether it’s introducing cutting-edge technology or instilling a calmness and simplicity to the resort’s facilities,” said Akaryn Hospitality Management Services Managing Director and Founder Anchalika Kijkanakorn.
“We have sought to create a special experience once again through the introduction of a much healthier, naturally produced and sustainable source of food, combined with the excellent skills of Chef David, who will personally meet all guests and work with them to explore what they’d like to eat. There’s no ask that will be too much.”
Aleenta Hua Hin-Pranburi is formerly a traditional family beach villa and is located along wide unspoiled, windswept beaches, two and a half hours drive south of Bangkok. All rooms boast their own unique design, ensuring guests take away their own individual holiday experience. Since the remodelling of the Frangipani Wing was finished at the end of last year, the wing’s one major villa has been converted into five suite rooms, all opening out onto a spacious infinity pool.
To promote tranquillity and relaxation there are no televisions in the rooms, although they are packed with luxury amenities such as iPod and docking stations and complimentary Wi-Fi. Each of the five new suites is laid out to take advantage of the ocean view, with their own private sundeck, king-size beds with high cotton count linen and power showers. While some of the suites have been designed loft-style and other single storey, all maintain Aleenta’s concept of ‘Outside Living – In’.
