Dear Owners,

The first quarter of 2010 has proven to be one of our most successful in terms of revenue generation and customer comments. We have ridden through the worst of economic crisis world wide of the last 2 years, as well as Thailand’s own political unrest. Whilst things seem to have settled here in Thailand during the first part of the year, unfortunately 2 very unfortunate events will effect us in the month of April, May and June 2010. The first is the Icelandic Volcano Eruption - this resulted in about 30 room nights lost for the last part of April due to no flights out of Europe. At the same time - and this is still an on going situation in Thailand - the current political unrest and stand-off between the Government and the Red Shirts has resulted in Thailand being listed as a no-go country for many of the countries around the world. We are still hopeful that the situation will improve soon, but while this is still going on, the outlook for May and June will not be as good as we have hoped.

Having said that, we are ploughing on with even more active sales and marketing activities ever. Please read on...

Aleenta Partnering with International Banks

Aleenta is partnering with local and international banks such as HSBC, CITI Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, SCB, and Kasikorn Bank in diverse promotional and marketing activities to their members. In addition, we are very proud to have succeeded in having a new partner, the UOB, the UOB will be featuring and promoting Aleenta Phuket-Phangnga, as the only resort in Thailand for their special ladies member club.

Aleenta Tops Best Selling Hotel for SLH

Both Aleenta Hua Hin - Pranburi and Aleenta Phuket - Phangnga are proud members of the Small Luxury Hotels of the Word (SLH) www.slh.com.

We are please to announce that, again, Aleenta Phuket-Phangnga was the most popular and best selling SLH resort in Thailand over the last three months as well as being one of the top resorts regionally in 2009. Congratulations to our sales and reservation team for this acheivement.

Travel Fairs and International Sales.

Our Sales team has been busy in attending diverse travel fairs during the first months of this year. Considered as the most important and one of the biggest travel fairs in Europe, the Aleenta sales team attended the ITB in Berlin, to meet up with current and new partners from all over Europe. Followed by successful sales calls to Moscow where new partners and agreements had been signed off. PATA fair in London were we had the opportunity to present Aleenta to more that 40 travel agents and tour operators. While in Germany we managed to give a product training to the agents of TRUST International who are handling all sales from the SLH. All these activities were done during the first 4 months of 2010. More activities are planned for 2nd Quarter of this year where our sales team are going to Dubai as well as Singapore on sales calls.

Maintenance Update

Gym Equipment Upgrade

To further enhance our Gym, we have now procured a completely new set of gym equipments. The new equipments which have arrived in March 2010 are the new Cardio Equipment made by Stex. Treadmill, Elliptical Cross trainer and bike are all made for commercial use and feature the latest technology.

MDB Panel Maintenance

After having overhauled all transformers in the Resort and the residences, we have also overhauled the Main Distribution Boards and the Generator switches ensuring that the power handling equipment of the Resort and the residences is well maintained and in case of a power outage the generator takes over without a hitch.

General Comment

In addition to general regular maintenance which is on going, we are now in the final stages of preparing the maintenance and special projects that will be carried out over the next few months (Low Season). This includes, among other things, spa renovation, main restaurant renovation, relaunching of the Chef’s Table (to be called Chef’s Table by the Sea - featuring new mostly Seafood Menu due to popular guest demand), re-upholstery program of all soft furnishing, completing the painting of Residence A Building which were not yet complete in time last low season, and the beachfront villas painting program. More information on these renovation / maintenance program will be coming through next issue of Owners’ Newsletter.
