What is the discover Thailand with Aleenta journey?
Discover Thailand with Aleenta is a private 11-night journey through four contrasting regions, thoughtfully connected by one Thai hospitality group.
The journey connects akyra Bangkok 11, Aleenta Phuket–Phang Nga, Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai and Aleenta Hua Hin–Pranburi. The three Aleenta resorts are MICHELIN Key hotels; Aleenta Phuket–Phang Nga and Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai are also members of The Leading Hotels of the World.
Every itinerary is shaped around the people travelling. Couples may follow markets, food and design; families may choose boats, wildlife and hands-on cooking; returning visitors may spend more time with artists, local communities or simply beside the sea. The pace is personal, with time left open wherever the holiday calls for it.
Where does the journey go?
BANGKOK
One night between city energy and canal life
Bangkok opens the journey between Sukhumvit’s energy and the quieter life of the city’s canals.
At the canal end of Sukhumvit Soi 11, akyra Bangkok 11 offers two views of the capital: restaurants, shopping and nightlife close at hand, and a waterside neighbourhood that moves to an older rhythm.
After settling in, begin with dinner or drinks at E/R/N, the hotel’s all-day café and social space. Wander through Sukhumvit’s food streets, take the Khlong Saen Saep commuter boat towards the city centre, or travel privately through the canals of Thonburi, past wooden houses, waterside temples and Baan Silapin, the Artist’s House. A second night can be added for guests who wish to linger in Bangkok.
PHANG NGA
Four nights on Thailand’s quieter Andaman coast
Phang Nga brings together the stillness of Natai Beach, the communities of the coast and the extraordinary limestone landscape of Phang Nga Bay.
Set directly on Natai Beach, approximately 25 minutes north of Phuket International Airport, Aleenta Phuket–Phang Nga opens onto a long, quiet shoreline. Its low-rise setting gives the coast a rare sense of space, while Phang Nga Bay, local markets, rainforest and historic towns remain within easy reach.
Begin slowly, with time on the beach and dinner as the sun settles over the Andaman Sea. The following day, Aleenta’s Private Natai Experience travels by traditional long-tail boat in partnership with Khao Pilai Village, with time to swim, kayak or share a picnic along the coast.
Another day leads into Phang Nga Bay, where limestone karsts rise from sheltered green water. Canoe through sea caves and hidden lagoons, then visit Koh Panyee, the Muslim fishing village built on stilts beneath a limestone cliff. Wooden walkways, family seafood kitchens and a generations-old relationship with the bay reveal a living southern community.
Leave the final day open to the landscape: Phang Nga Town and its market; Wat Tasai, a turtle conservation stop and Lampi Waterfall; rainforest rafting; or the Sino-Portuguese architecture, independent shops and museums of Phuket Old Town. Back at Aleenta, SEASONS offers an intimate, ingredient-led evening shaped by local growers, fishermen and the changing season, with plant-forward and land-and-sea menus.
CHIANG MAI
Three nights inside the living culture of Lanna
Chiang Mai unfolds through mountain temples, old-city courtyards, working markets, artists and the distinctive flavours of the North.
Near the foot of Doi Suthep, Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai is close to the historic city yet held within peaceful gardens. Contemporary design and Lanna references give the hotel its own sense of place, so the experience of Northern Thailand begins before leaving the grounds.
Begin early on the mountain at Wat Pha Lat or Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, before continuing through the old quarter to temple courtyards, local history and Warorot Market. This is where Chiang Mai shops for sai ua, chilli dips, tea, fruit and handmade snacks — a vivid introduction to the everyday tastes of the North.
The following day reveals Chiang Mai’s creative side. Wat Umong’s forest tunnels and old trees sit close to Baan Kang Wat, a small artists’ village of ceramics, textiles, studios, cafés and independent workshops. A market-led cooking class or Northern Thai lunch at The Garden brings the day back to flavour. As evening settles, 1892 Bar serves cocktails and Thai-inspired plates within the resort’s restored golden-teak house.
PRANBURI
Three nights of coast, farms and national parks
Pranburi brings the journey to a gentler close, between the Gulf coast, organic farmland and the limestone landscapes of Khao Sam Roi Yot.
On Pak Nam Pran Bay, Aleenta Hua Hin–Pranburi is surrounded by fishing communities, farmland and a long coastal route made for early walks and bicycle rides. Mornings unfold quietly: boats returning to shore, small cafés opening their doors and local life moving with the tide.
Spend a day in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Those ready for the climb can visit Phraya Nakhon Cave, where a royal pavilion stands beneath a natural opening in the rock. A gentler alternative follows Khlong Khao Daeng by boat, between mangroves, limestone cliffs and a working fishing village, with birdlife along the way.
Another morning begins at Aleenta’s 25-acre organic farm, gathering herbs, vegetables and eggs before a private Thai cooking class. The coast invites movement by bicycle or kiteboard; it is equally suited to a morning market, a quiet afternoon beside the sea and a final dinner overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.
What will i eat on the journey?
Thai food provides a natural thread through the journey, with every region expressed through its markets, ingredients and cooking traditions.
At E/R/N, Bangkok begins with a contemporary menu and the flavours of Sukhumvit after dark: noodles, grilled dishes and Thai sweets. Phang Nga brings Southern curries, fragrant herbs and Andaman seafood, a hands-on cooking experience and an evening at SEASONS. Chiang Mai adds khao soi, sai ua, nam prik and the produce-led Northern table. In Pranburi, vegetables from Aleenta’s farm meet seafood from the Gulf.
Cooking experiences can be woven into selected stays, so guests return home with new techniques and recipes as well as memories. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, Halal and Jain requirements can be coordinated across the journey with advance notice and written confirmation from each kitchen.
Why travel across thailand with aleenta?
Travelling with Aleenta brings together the familiarity of one Thai hotel family and the local knowledge of four distinctive destination teams.
Across the four destinations, there is a quiet sense of continuity. Preferences travel with the guest, transfers are thoughtfully coordinated and each local team understands the journey as a whole. The experience feels considered without becoming rigid, and polished without losing touch with everyday Thailand.
The four chapters are chosen for their contrast: city and canal, Andaman coast and islands, Northern culture and mountains, then the slower Gulf coast. Together, they allow guests to experience more than one Thailand while still having time to notice the details that make each place memorable.
How does travel between the destinations work?
The journey can begin on any day, with the sequence shaped around international flights, current domestic schedules and the guest’s preferred arrival and departure points.
The suggested order is Bangkok, Phang Nga, Chiang Mai and Pranburi, although it can be reversed or rearranged. Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai have frequent domestic connections. Direct services between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai operate on selected days, with alternative sequences or connecting flights available on other dates.
When schedules align, guests may travel from Hua Hin to Chiang Mai, continue between Chiang Mai and Phuket, and depart internationally from their final destination. This keeps the journey flowing without an additional return by road. Exact flights, transfer times, baggage requirements and the most seamless sequence are confirmed before booking.
When is the best time to take the journey?
November to February usually brings the most comfortable overall conditions, although each season reveals a different side of the journey.
November to February brings cooler mornings in Chiang Mai and generally drier conditions on both coasts. May and June are green, peaceful and often attractively priced, with fewer visitors and a little more space at the resorts and major sights. July and August are livelier shoulder-season months.
September and October may bring strong but short tropical showers, often followed by fresh air, vivid landscapes and sunshine. March and April are warmer, and seasonal haze can affect Northern Thailand; the reservations team can shape the route and balance of outdoor experiences accordingly. Boat journeys, national-park visits and outdoor dining are always confirmed with local weather, tides and access in mind.
Who is this thailand journey for?
The journey suits first-time visitors wishing to see Thailand with greater depth, as well as returning travellers drawn beyond its busiest resort areas.
It is particularly well suited to couples, families, friends and small private groups who value beautiful hotels, thoughtful food, local knowledge and an unhurried pace. The emphasis may fall on culture, nature, photography, food, beaches or active adventure, with fewer organised days for guests who prefer more time at the resorts.
Four landscapes, four distinct rhythms and one quietly connected journey — a way to see more of Thailand without hurrying past what gives each place its character.
